The 18th of November 2016, was an exciting one for us; Basil, one of our own from our String Orchestra Training Programme took to the stage in Yunnan, China, as a violin soloist invited by a professional symphonic orchestra to perform Mendelssohn’s rousing Violin Concerto!

We’re really proud of him for being such a trooper – juggling demands during exam period as a student at Raffles Institution as well as lessons and rehearsals!

We’re deeply honoured that Basil is the first Singaporean youth violin soloist to be invited to collaborate with the Kunming Nie’er Symphony Orchestra at Chun Cheng Ju Yuan (春城剧院) in Kunming, and very glad that the concert turned out to be a great success; Basil has indeed done Singapore proud that evening!
